Manchester's first secret supper club is doing a dinner for Confidential readers.

IF you're a fan of Indian food, you probably already know about The Spice Club.

It's the city's first supper club. It serves delicious, home-cooked Indian food in a secret North Manchester location. It's been nominated for a Manchester Food and Drink Festival award. And it's sold out until 2013.

Except for one night – they've just agreed to do a dinner for Confidential readers on Saturday 17 November. You can reserve a place below now.

Curry lovers and people who enjoy home-style, authentic, food will like it a lot.



It's a totally different experience to restaurant dining. First-off, the food is lovingly prepared by real enthusiasts rather than by a hired kitchen team. The Spice Club is the work of Monica and her mother Anita from Jaipur in India.

Secondly, it's a social experience. You all eat together in Monica's dining room so conversation flows and new friends are made.

Supper clubs have sprung up in cities such as London and New York – this is Manchester's original. And it's a good one.

Michelin-starred chef Aiden Byrne has been. He said, “We had the most amazing evening, sharing it with like-minded people and being cooked for by people who cook from the right place, the heart.”

The Spice Club's Confidential Night

It will take place in a secret location in North Manchester (near Bury) on Saturday 17 November. The exact location will be emailed to guests 24 hours before the event.

The dinner will include a welcome soft drink, appetizer, entree (four dishes served family style, accompanied with Basmati rice and chappatis), a dessert and chai. The menu for the night is given below.

You're welcome to bring your own drinks.

It's £30pp for the menu below and there are just 28 places available. The Spice Club's events sell out so book well in advance.

How to book

1) Click the link below to pay a £30 per person. You will be directed to our online booking system where you can use your credit or debit card to pay your deposit – you don’t need an account. Please remember to print out your receipt.

2) The exact location will be emailed to guests 24 hours before the event. Please ensure you have entered the correct email address.

If you have not received the email by lunchtime 16 Nov (check your junk folder just in case) please call the office on 0161 832 2880 before 5pm. The office will be closed Saturday.

Welcome Drink

Tulsi Lassi

Home-styled sweet lassi with a hint of fresh bazil.

Appetiser

Aloo Tikki Chaat

Spiced potato patty, topped with home-made tamaring chutney, yoghurt sauce and a spicy coriander mint chutney.

Entrées

Kashmiri Lamb Masala

Tender lamb, slow roasted in onions, garlic, ginger, and whole garam masala.

Paneer Methi Bhurji

Home-made indian cottage cheese, cooked in spiced yoghurt with fresh fenugreek and peas.

Ma Cholo Ki Dal

Urad and Chana Lentils, blended together and tempered in ginger, tomato and fresh coriander.

Aloo Palak

Potatoes seasoned with roasted cumin, cooked in a spicy Punjabi spinach masala.

Fresh Salad

Cucumber, radish, red onion and tomato salad.

*All entrées are served family style, with fresh chapattis, and basmati cumin rice.

Dessert

Malai Aam

Crumbled cardamom biscotti, layered with sweet saffron cream yoghurt, topped with home-made mango sorbet and strawberry compote.

Tea

Elaichi Chai

Traditional indian tea, infused with crushed cardamom and fennel seeds.
