EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR has finally found a permanent home away from the Etihad Stadium after moving to Spurs for £5m.

The 28-year-old will still be on the wage bill at the Premier League champions though, as City has been forced to subsidise his £175,000 per week wages.

"Alexander is one of the best young left-backs in Europe and we're delighted to sign him."

If the figures reported are to be believed, with Spurs contributing around £80,000 per week, City will be paying Adebayor more money to score goals for Spurs than Spurs will be paying him to score goals for Spurs.

The Togo international, who was on loan at White Heart Lane last season, said on Twitter: “Tottenham here I come! I'm hungry for goals. Get ready."

Another City player attracting interest away from Manchester is winger Adam Johnson.

Liverpool and Tottenham have made enquires about the England international, and Sunderland have made an official approach.

Johnson made just 10 appearances last season for City, so don’t be surprised if he’s playing his football elsewhere before the end of the month, as Swansea’s Scott Sinclair emerges as the favourtie to replace him.

Meanwhile, City’s young striker Harry Bunn has joined League One side Crewe on loan until 6 January.

The 19-year-old had loan spells at Rochdale, Preston, and Oldham last season.

Over in Trafford, United have signed full-back Alexander Buttner from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £3.9m.

The promising defender will provide cover for Patrice Evra after Fabio’s move to QPR on loan.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Alexander is one of the best young left-backs in Europe and we're delighted to sign him."

Danny Welbeck has signed a new four-year contract at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old from Longsight has scored 17 goals for United since making his debut in 2008, and will take his place in line behind Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney to be the spearhead of United’s attack this season.

Oldham picked up their first points of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Walsall last night.

Youssouf M'changama opened the scoring at Boundary Park with a 25-yard effort in the first-half, but George Bowerman’s equaliser after the break gave Walsall a share of the points – Dean Furman’s weak back-pass gifting the visitors a goal.

Oldham sit 19th in League One with just one point from two games.

Bury left Doncaster empty-handed last night after failing to hang-on to an early lead.

Joe Skarz put The Shakers ahead after five minutes when he netted at the near post, but the home side were level by half-time through Kyle Bennett's close-range finish.

However, things came apart in the second half for Bury as captain Steven Schumacher was send off for a second yellow card, before Brown beat the offside trap to seal all three points for the home side.

Rochdale were unlucky not to get their first win of the League Two season away at Chesterfield last night.

The Dale took the lead just after the break when Andrew Tutte fired in a long-range shot, but Jack Lester's last-minute equaliser made it two draws from two for John Coleman’s side.
