Golly, what a difference a bit of sun makes. Walking out of the office, what do we stumble on outside the Kremlin? The Christmas markets seemingly arriving early. Quick one this. Savin Hill Farm has a stall, fabulous pies, and the beef is superb. All from rare breed, well hung and looking great. Steak tonight for my dinner! Next door is a fab pork stall. Again, well managed and rare breeds only, I can personally recommend both outstanding producers.
German barbecues, a whole pig roasted on a spit (bit mean with size of the bap, and more salt there guys), two beer tents. The best fruit I have ever seen in Manchester (how often can you eat perfectly ripe, massive figs for lunch in an office on Albert Square?), loads of chocolate, wild mushrooms, fresh garlic; Lots of new-age weird stuff as well. Get in there! Its fun! 10/10 this time to the Kremlin, who, I think, have organised this. Do I spot Margaret Nuttall’s cool touch here? Margaret, if it’s you, tell Gordo next time you see him, he has 37,500 readers who want to know. If it’s not Margaret, can whoever is in charge
email us please?

here to see a few quick pictures of the market. Real Bonsai trees as well, by the way.
Great first meal in Obsidian last night, Julian, head honcho extraordinaire is doing a fine job. To my surprise, great value as well. Shall report later in full. Lufthansa have moved, sensibly, from the Palace to Arora, the boutique hotel above, so expect German blond babes in the bar every night. Next week, The new Radisson and my stay. Great Pasta at San Rocco on Friday. Good to see my lifelong pal Lawrence Millett of Bauer Millett, there, recovering from the big C, with some disturbing news for Gordo that he is able to carry on drinking. Gordo had his eye on the wine cellar.
