The People's History Museum
The People's History Museum re-opened in March 2010 after a two year closure for an amazing £12.5m redevelopment, which included the refurbishment of the existing Pump House and the construction of a four storey extension alongside it; the old and new buildings are now joined together by a spectacular glass walkway.
The museum is open every day from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

Main Galleries
There have always been ideas worth fighting for.
Join a march through time following Britain's struggle for democracy in Britain over two centuries.
Meet the revolutionaries, reformers, workers, voters and citizens who fought our battle for the ballot. Gather amongst their magnificent banners and discover how time off was won
(and spent).
Changing Exhibition Gallery
The Changing Exhibition Gallery showcases more of our collections with a six monthly changing exhibition. These exhibitions are related to the themes of the museum's main galleries and story. For more info about the current exhibition Picturing Politics see here
Community Gallery
The Community Gallery is located in the newly restored Engine Hall and is where local groups can display their own work.
This space is where local groups can display their own work. We try to make these displays relevant to the story told in the museum where possible.
The Left Bank cafe bar
With Manchester's sunniest riverside terrace (honest!), why not pop in for hand-crafted coffees, seasonal British cuisine or fine local ales. The hot sandwiches are a lunch time favourite and the one bowl of the day dish is a perfect winter warmer.
The Left Bank cafe bar is open: Monday to Friday from 8.00am until 5.00pm and Saturday & Sunday 10.00am to 5.00pm.
The cafe bar is operated by Couture, who also provide all the catering for our venue hire conference and meeting facilities.
