Adopt for Salford

Thinking about adopting a child?
Think about adopting with Salford.

Adopting will transform a child’s life, and your own. If you're thinking about taking the first step, and you live within 30 miles of Salford, you may be able to adopt with Salford City Council.

You don’t have to live in our city. We’re seeking adopters from all over the North West region, from all ethnicities and religions, and all walks of life.

You might be a couple or single, a homeowner or renting, heterosexual or gay, in your thirties or fifties. What’s important is that you can provide a loving, stable home for a child.

We have children of all ages in need of a family. Some are brothers and sisters who want to stay together when they’re adopted. Others are school-age children whose early years have been tough. If you can become their parent or parents, we’d really like to hear from you.

“It’s hard to believe that 12 months ago we were sitting in an open evening and now we have a wonderful daughter in our family. It’s like she’s always been here!”

Outstanding support

The process of adopting takes time but we will support you at every step of the journey and beyond into your new life with your child. Our support service for adoptive parents and children is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted - when you adopt with Salford City Council, you receive some of the best support in the country.
