YouTube Phenomenon About Didsbury. Nice People Parodied

We have readers coming out of our ears sending us this...so here it is

YouTube Phenomenon About Didsbury. Nice People Parodied

"THERE doesn't seem to be any real men, they doing patchwork quilt and we're talking about Zen."

So Matthew Green and Martin Wallace have done a 'Newport, Newport' ('New York, New York').

Bless them. Witty lyrics though if a little obvious.

The song is called 'I think we're in Didsbury' and is based on another popular music hit. You guess. Although the lyrics are perhaps better suited to West Didsbury.

Lame satire. Horrible grating voice.

"If you're a man who likes Madras and a Nan
Then there's a place to go - Rush-holme"
"If you're a clot who likes his curry red hot
To prove that you're a man - Rush-holme"

"When I get older, losing my hair
There's a club for me".....
Minshull Street and Bloom Street on the corner it sits
Book-Binders not a place for you kids"...

If you're going to try and quote my lyrics, please actually quote them. And as for your 'Bless them' comment, bless the person who is earning a living as a journalist and doesn't understand basic pluralisation. Phenomena? Really?

Matthew on 'phenomena' you've got me. I feel silly. But hey I wrote that in about two minutes before I had to rush out for some Halloumi sandwiches for my 4X4 pram. It gets hungry.

Meanwhile don't mock the media that promoted you.

And no I've never been a journalist though I have made a living from writing.

Hi Matthew, Excellent! Check out Terry Garoghan "Brighton the Musical". I always thought someone would do "Manchester the Musical"...
"Pretty Woman, walking down Canal Street.
Pretty Woman - size fourteen feet.
Pretty Woman, pretty frock
Pretty woman, what a shock
Pretty woman had a c**k like me..."

I thought it was a bit lame frankly. Sure, it's supposed to be humorous and satirical, but it didn't say anything about the Didsbury I know and live in.
