Writer has laptop disaster

Thea Euryphaessa, cocktail columnist for Confidential, had her laptop stolen from the car park behind The Didsbury pub, Wilmslow Road on Thursday 5th March between the hours of 13:30 and 14:00. Thea had stopped for a brief lunch when thieves broke in through the boot of her boyfriend's black Audi A3 (02 reg) where the laptop was stored out of sight.

The laptop, a silver Sony Vaio was stored in a black and dark green laptop bag, along with a Garmin 305 heart-rate monitor and Canon digital camera (pink).

The laptop is of particular importance as Thea is currently writing her first book that was due for release this summer. Entitled 'Running into Myself: A Journey Through the Soul of the Feat', the book charts her personal journey during which she tackles three marathons through New York, Rome and Athens.

The most current version of the book was stored on the hard drive of the laptop and hadn't been backed up. As she was still working on it, no other copies had been backed up anywhere else.

"It's not just the loss of the laptop, it's the value of the work stored on it. I know I should've backed it up onto a separate memory stick, but hindsight is a wonderful thing and as I was nearing completion it was my next priority. As a writer, the laptop very rarely leaves my sight, let alone the house and on the one occasion it does - as I was in transit - this happens. I'm devastated."

If anyone has any information that may assist with the return of the laptop, Thea can be contacted through her website: www.runningintomyself.com
