Gordo’s mum murders lesser feathered turkey buzzard

Twittering birds

Gordo found himself back at the family pile on Sunday for Shifty’s cracking roast pork and crackling. The fragrant Maureen, Gordo’s long suffering Mum, wife to the ex Gangster Shifty, was terribly excited. “Come and have a look at these two birds that landed in the garden yesterday Gordo”, says Maureen, clutching a big bag of peanuts.

Blimey, two big buggers, very foreign looking. Maureen loves wildlife and feeds them all, apart from the wild mink who are, by all accounts, vicious little sods that work as great targets for Shifty’s sawn off.

Maureen decides to call up the wild bird sanctuary, who send the crack squadron round to get a hold on them, they were a bit late as they were waiting for the arthritis medication to work. The squad managed to get one, but the other, thinking it was about to be taken on as an extra in Cocoon 2, legged it.

They decided that it was best to let the first one go as they were, in Maureen’s words, star crossed lovers.

Maureen went to bed that night forgetting that she always leaves a carcass or two out for her favourite fox, who unfortunately decided a bit of warm breast was a good deal more interesting than the cold rack of pork bones. It ate one.

Maureen cries when wildlife programs on telly show those naughty lions eating those lovely antelope. She was squawking like three year old when she saw the feathers strewn across the lawn along with a solitary wing.

Anyway, does anyone know what the birds were?

Enough of the nature notes, let’s get down the pub.

Not sure what they are but i think a wild mushroom and garlic stuffing would work well with them

Them birds are hen turkeys. They are not wild (but maybe they were none too happy when the fox got them!).
