Santa Claus goes Red for charity

Old Trafford will be an alternative sea of red this December as Manchester United invite local people to get in the mood for the festive season, get out in the fresh air and support a good cause by taking part in a Santa Run to raise funds for two of their partner charities, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Francis House Children’s Hospice.

The Santa Run takes place on Sunday 16 December and kicks off at noon. You can run, jog or walk your way round and participants of any age are welcome, although children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is £10, or £7 for children, senior citizens and students and each Santa is asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship money. All those who register receive a free Santa suit, although you can add your own accessories or wear your own outfit, and all Santas will receive a medal and goodie bag. Fred the Red from United will be there cheering all participants on and the Santa who raises the most sponsorship will win a pair of football boots signed by Cristiano Ronaldo.
