Well. Sat in the safety of Piccolinos the other day with a glass of wine in hand, agreeing to jump out of a plane seemed like a great idea. Now though, in hindsight… well, it seems like an even better idea to be honest!
Myself and reluctant recruit Vanessa will be throwing ourselves to near certain death from 14,000 feet on Saturday June 3, to help raise money to bring the first Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) to the North West.
Manchester Confidential.com has linked up with PR agency Weber Shandwick to risk life, limb and sanity for heart and lung transplant charity New Start. The skydive is to help New Start raise the final £100k needed to buy the scanner.
This is where we need your help. If anybody out there would like to donate money to New Start by sponsoring us brave souls, they can do so by clicking here!
Janice Taylor from New Start explained: “The importance of this scanner cannot be underestimated – it’s potentially a life saver for people in the North West.
"The detection of heart problems is still not an exact science - the best non-invasive technique at the moment only detects around 35% of problems - but with this scanner, we'll be able to detect 85%.
Janice added: "So far we have raised about £900,000 - which is brilliant - but we still have a way to go. It could take up to 10 years to acquire one through the NHS, so we urge everyone who reads this page to donate whatever they can."
If you would like to donate to this extremely worthy cause, and send two terrified girls hurtling 14,000 feet to the ground, then fill your details into the form below!
