Walk Piccadilly Gardens With Cllr Pat Karney

GIVEN the hullabaloo, outcry and rending of garments over the state of Piccadilly Gardens - not least by Jonathan Schofield on Confidential - people might want to skip down to Caffe Nero this Sunday to have their say.

Reasonable and rational debate will be best of course.

Read our article and the rants for proof of passion over the area here

Cllr Pat Karney, city centre spokesperson, is putting his head into the lion's mouth to discuss, debate and promenade the Gardens from 2pm. Reasonable and rational debate will be best of course.

He'll be discussing his 'many walls' idea plus what's happening with the fountain, the lawns and much else.

Meet at Caffe Nero in Piccadilly Gardens, 2pm.

Is Domenyk Noonan invited?

Not great timing considering the last Premier League games of the season all kick off at 3pm. A lot of people hate Piccadilly Gardens but love United/City more.

Is he feeding the pigeons in the that photo?

AnonymousMay 9th 2014.

No, he's scaring them!

Could he get them to knock down One Piccadilly Gardens - please! Get rid of the gangster wheel too!

Is this going to be one of those things where they "take on board peoples' opinions" and then do what they were going to do anyway?

I was sat in the cafe corner I was trying to look conspicuous and civic so i borrowed the Lord Mayors chains Also i was reading a big document about council tax forecasts for 2015 A man approached me and i thought jackpot Now I will go into the spiel about the "many walls " concept But it was only a council tax inquiry Went outside and it was only me,the pigeons and the build up to the match on my phone Realized that this direct democracy is dodgy as i was looking into strangers faces Many not my type In the end it was Billy no mates Realized that what Laptop ranters and mini moaners want is house visits So if Mr and Mrs Ms Anon give me their addresses i will house visit Out of the ashes as Conchita Wurst says Piccadilly will rise like a Phoenix Thats all folks Pat

As pointed out on the other page relating to this. Sunday 2pm was a bad time as United and City both kicked off at 3pm. Lots of people hate Piccadilly Gardens but love United & City more.

Hilarious. Seriously though Man Con, it's a bit archaic that your commenting system allows people to change their name willy-nilly (not that I don't take advantage of it), including using other people's names.

Pat, would you like to borrow my keyboard? It has various things, such as a full stop button and also one for commas. Many thanks.

Why are you writing like you are a buffoon Pat when you attended a very good university in London. Are you trying to copy Boris ?.

If people don't turn up it's not that they are not interested,it's that they have come to the conclusion that meeting you is a waste of time.People want action not the PR spin of meetings, meant to diffuse the issue.

So is Pat Karney's sudden 'flurry' of activity (don't tire yourself out too much Pat, you haven't done before). So if his dedicated 'caring' about what Mancunians think. Did anyone say there was an election on the 22nd May? My goodness the 'City Centre spokesman' (of Harpurhey) could loose his seat? Funny p--s take though and quite accurately cynical I'd say!

Genuinely sorry but not surprised that no one turned up. If I still lived in Manchester, I would have sat in a corner of Nando's trying to be invisible, or lurked outside until I was sure plenty of people had showed up: the thought of a one to one with Pat just too horrible to contemplate. Perhaps Pat, you could write a short piece, outlining your ideas in your inimical progressive style, dispensing with tedious bourgeois punctuation.

Excellent points I wonder if it would help if I brought along my Aunty Mary who speaks fluent Harpurhey ,is very tactile and will dance with you before you can say Alan Partridge I am cursed with this Kim Jong-um look When I am in Collyhurst where i grew up kids cruelly shout get yer hair cut proper Kimy My mother would be ashamed She wanted me to look like Cliff Richard with his nice manners There is no Nandos in the gardens Pat
