A MAN was glassed at Sukura nightclub on Deansgate Locks on September 3, leaving him scarred.
Police said the man, 21, was dancing with his friends when his attacker joined the group and then, without provocation, lashed out by hitting the man with a glass bottle.
"The offender started dancing with the victim and his friends and then, without reason or warning, launched into an attack."
It left him with cuts to his mouth and forehead which needed stitching in hospital.
The offender ran out and was pursued by the door staff, who did detain him, but he managed to escape. He was last seen running down Deansgate.
He is described as white, between 19 and 22-years-old, of a tall and skinny build and with a shaved head. He was wearing a black top with white along the neck, and dark blue jeans. Police have also released a CCTV still of the offender and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
The still issued by GMPDetective Constable Keith Gibbs, of North Manchester CID, said: "This was a totally unprovoked attack. The offender started dancing with the victim and his friends and then, without reason or warning, launched into an attack that has left the man with some disfigurement.
"It is a shocking incident. There is no reason why this man was targeted in such a violent way and sadly he will remember that night forever - but for all the wrong reasons.
"This could literally have happened to anyone such was the offender's state of mind, so it is very important that anyone who either remembers what happened, was in the club at the time and saw the assault or has information comes forward because we need to identify this man and bring him to justice.
"I would urge people to look very carefully at the CCTV still we have issued and if you do recognise him please call us."
Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 1922 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Very true anon, but I believe The Living Room on Deansgate has had a few incidents as well so not sure it is down to the venue. I have to admit that Deansgate Locks is probably the place I'd dread going the most though!!!!
