If only toilets could speak! For the 8th consecutive year since opening back in 1998, The Trafford Centre has won 2 highly acclaimed Loo of the Year Awards in the December 2006 search to find the best ‘away from home’ toilets in the UK.

Gordon McKinnon, Director of Operations at The Trafford Centre said: “We have been fortunate enough to win this award on a yearly basis since the Centre opened, this is partly through the design of our many toilet facilities, but more thanks to the fantastic team we have, who tirelessly ensure that the toilets and washrooms are always spotless for visitors to the Centre”

Every entry received an unannounced visit from an authorised Loo of the Year Awards Inspector and was assessed against a wide range of judging criteria – including signage and décor, fixtures and fittings and overall standards of cleanliness and management.

The Loo of the Year Awards and associated Attendant of the Year Awards for cleaning staff, have been identifying the best in Britain since 1987 and are recognised as standard setters for all of those who provide facilities for staff, customers and visitors.

Over 1100 entries were received this year, and The Trafford Centre received the maximum of 5 stars for their entries.
