BUSY Bank Holiday? Just a bit.
Manchester was a sea of colour on Saturday thanks to the Pride Parade, which was watched by thousands of excited onlookers.
Everyone got involved, from the cast of Corrie to the top brass at Greater Manchester Police.
Check out our pictures below - you might even spot yourself in there somewhere.

And here's a bit of video from our friends at Black Dog Ballroom in the Northern Quarter and Velvet on Canal Street, who sponsored the Coronation Street float in the parade:

"some people are gay - get over it"
Hmmmmm, it seems the only people insistent on highlighting this is gays themselves.
Thats why they have a massive parade to remind you to get over the fact that they are gay.
no, the parade is simply a celebration of gay life, and a massive piss up too. Don't try and dress it up as anything different. it isn't a big political movement, it's just a bit of fun. Lighten up, and appreciate the fact you live in a forward thinking, liberal city
I think the 'some people are gay - get over it' campaign started as a sort of rebuttle at kids in playgrounds.
Feel big now Anon?
Wait a minute.....people are GAY????? i was not informed of this development.
Not really, we have a massive parade because it's a lot of fun :)
I bet anon. "has lots of gay friends as it happens".. and "doesn't mind gays, but doesn't like it rammed it down his throat...." You know, that type of person ;) Gotta love a bit of casual homophobia!!
I'm actually going to stick up for anon a bit (bravely, anonymously!)
It does seem acceptable to moan about big groups of religious people, football fans or political supporters celebrating their beliefs and passions en masse, but woe betide anyone who moans about not being able to walk through Manchester on August bank holiday without seeing a bald guy wearing a cod-piece. I'm not saying it's ok, just pointing out the inconsistency, because I'm a pedantic bugger.
Whats a Cod-Piece? And yes, this question has just been asked by a fun boy!
It's THE must-have fashion accessory for any gay man or barbarian, FUNBOI! A kind of leather pouch (preferably with rhinestones or studs - depending where you sit along the gay-barbarian spectrum).
Also - I'm sad enough to have looked this up on google - it's called a codpiece, because cod is ancient english for scrotum. That is your fact for the day.
I'm gay and I've never had the urge to walk down the street wearing teeny-weeny pants.
I'm not gay and I always walk down the street in teeny weeny pants.
Loving the shameless picture of a fit police-woman at number 70. She is though.
Also, there's something about the gay movement that has been troubling me for a while now. The flag. It's wrong.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo....where's Violet? What's wrong with Violet?
...yeah she is.
She got stuck in the loo in Vanilla
What I have rammed down my thorat is none of your business Joe Lucas!!!!!!
How would you know how BIG I feel FUNBOI123
WOW, what with material like this I could have gone down an absolute treat on the parade!
aw. someone sounds like a frustrated, closeted homo!!
