Get Outa my Line of Fire

Mothers, wives, daughters and girlfriends – lock up the men in your lives. Seriously, it’s for their own safety. Rock icon and pop art diva Niagara is in town, with all of the crushing impact of her watery namesake.

Launching her new exhibition ‘Get Outa my Line of Fire’ at the Richard Goodall Gallery this Friday, Niagara will attend a special preview screening of her work, where she will be available to sign copies of her new book ‘Beyond the Pale’.

It’s all about assertive women, guns and booze in this, Niagara’s latest collection of contemporary art. Niagara’s paintings depict a fast, sexy world of femme fatales who walk all over the weaker sex in very high stiletto heels. Ouch.

“It’s the men who cry in my paintings” muses punk icon Niagara, somewhat worryingly for Gordo who will be popping down to the gallery later this week to meet the lady herself. Watch this space to see how he copes when faced with this rush of female empowerment.

The show will contain up to 40 pieces in total including a range of limited edition prints, with prices ranging from £95 to £2,500 depending on the piece. Also available will be sets of limited edition greeting cards and signed copies of Niagara’s book ‘Beyond the Pale’.

Richard Goodall the Gallery curator comments: “We are delighted that Niagara is to visit Manchester with this exhibition as we introduce Lowbrow art to the UK collector. Lowbrow has its origins in punk music, comix and hot rod street culture and Niagara certainly fits this bill.”

‘Get Outa my Line of Fire’ will be running at the Richard Goodall Gallery from June 23 to July 22. For more information on the exhibition and on this Friday’s advance preview click here.
