Expect the unexpected

New Village hotel takes the city spirit to Ashton-under-Lyne

Published on April 24th 2008.

Expect the unexpected

The new Village Hotel in Ashton-under-Lyne, is a prime example when it comes to expecting the unexpected. This hidden gem gives more than one reason to venture to the edge of the city for a pleasant and well-priced retreat. Living up to their philosophy of 'welcome to more', the new addition boasts everything you should need from a hotel and leisure club.

The four storey building’s stunning modern design is the Village's flagship hotel. Facilities at the hotel include, 120 contemporary style bedrooms, full service restaurant, a traditional pub and Starbucks coffee house, state of the art Health & Fitness Club, The Hub meanwhile is for hi-tech conference and meetings with free wi-fi internet access throughout the whole hotel and free parking.

The sleek modern hotel bedrooms feature comfortable beds, wall-mounted 32inch LCD TVs, i-Pod docking stations and free wi-fi making them a great place to relax. For hotel guests or locals who are looking for somewhere to eat out, the hotel has two great places to enjoy good food and drink; the Victory pub & kitchen, a proper pub with traditional beers and proper pub grub, or the Verve grill & oven restaurant for a more formal dining experience. There is also a Starbucks in the foyer of the hotel, perfect for that caffeine fix.

Village Hotel Ashton Moss' two-storey Health & Fitness Club is open to both hotel residents as well as local residents. With capacity for around 4,500 local members and competitive rates, prospective health club members from Ashton-under-Lyne and the surrounding area can enjoy the full range of facilities. The large gym includes 70 pieces of Technogym equipment, a 25 metre swimming pool with whirlpool and sauna, spacious work-out studios with a wide range of classes.

On top of this, the gym is home to the latest fitness must-have: Power-Plate, which works by transferring vibrations to selected muscles around your body. This is a fitness machine with a difference and Ashton Moss is one of few gyms to be able to offer this expensive kit to its members and guests. There are also personal trainers on hand to make sure members get the most out of their work-outs.

Banqueting services are also available for private functions including large conferences, wedding receptions and other family celebrations. Village has the capabilities and capacity to cater for up to 300 people.

The Hub is the state of the art meeting and conference facilities at the hotel. With seven conference rooms of different sizes all fully equipped with the latest tools, the Hub is perfect for businesses to run meetings and training sessions. Facilities in each conference room include flat screen TVs, projectors and white boards as well as free high speed Wi-Fi internet access and in-room drinks facilities.

Village Hotel is a surprising addition to Ashton due to the fact that it boasts the type of hotel facilities you would only expect to see in the city centre. However this new addition has been cleverly placed in an upcoming area, close to the motorway. The bustling market town of Ashton has a traditional historical feel as well as some exciting new attractions. Village Hotel is a welcome addition.
