CARLOS TEVEZ’S Manchester City career could finally be over after manager Roberto Mancini claimed the player refused to come off the bench in last night's Champions League defeat in Munich. City were trailing Bayern 2-0 with 35 minutes left when the striker, who reportedly earns £286,000-a-week, 'refused to come on to the pitch,' according to Mancini. Tevez later denied the reports.

A MAN has been injured in a gas explosion at a house in Crumpsall. The 64-year-old is seriously ill in hospital after suffering burns in the blast on Brynorme Road. The house suffered structural damage and debris was scattered across the road at around 11:45am yesterday.

A ‘LOST’ Beethoven movement is to be performed for the first time in more than 200 years in Manchester tomorrow. Professor Brian Cooper, of Manchester University, has reassembled surviving sketches from a slow movement Beethoven wrote for his string quartet Opus 18 Number Two in 1799, before discarding it and composing another version a year later. The completed movement will now be performed by the university’s resident string quartet at the Martin Harris Centre.

A JAMAICAN music promoter has been jailed after living in Manchester under a false identity for 14 years. Illegal immigrant Godfry Fogah, used forged papers to obtain a British passport under the name of Errol Stone and worked as the director of a Salford-based events promotion firm. Fogah has put on concerts and events for some of the word’s biggest names in hip-hop including 50 Cent and Ice Cube.
