City News in 250 Words: Wednesday 12 October

A MAN who had molested women on Manchester buses for more than 15 years has been sentenced. David Moore, 59, admitted seven charges of sexual assault at Liverpool Crown Court for offences on the Manchester to Didsbury route. Judge Clement Goldstone called Moore a ‘dirty old man’ and gave him a three-year community order. He was also ordered to pay £250 compensation to two of the victims and £375 prosecution costs.

FORMER Stone Roses front man Ian Brown may face a driving ban after being caught doing over 100mph on the motorway. The mancunian singer pleaded guilty to breaking the 70mph speed limit on the M6, near Sandbach, on 25 April. Cheshire lawyer Nick Freeman, nicknamed ‘Mr Loophole’ after helping a number of celebrity clients escape driving offences, is representing Brown.

RELIGIOUS LEADER, Mustafa Graf, has seen his seven month-old for the first time after being released from prison in Libya. Graf had been held in Tripoli after returning to his native country to help family members escape when war broke out but is now resting at his family home in Chorlton. The father of four is thought to be traumatised by his experience in the hands of Gadaffi loyalists.

STALKER Susanne Ibru, who made 400-mile round trips to Rio Ferdinand’s house, has lost an appeal after she failed to show up to court. The 38-year-old, of Peckham in south-east London, was jailed for 10 weeks and given a 10-year restraining order against the Manchester United defender and his family.
