A WOMAN was sexually assaulted by a taxi driver after being picked up outside Tiger Tiger in Manchester on 26 July. The driver struck up conversation with the 19-year-old then sexually assaulted her outside her house in Sale. She ran off and the offender drove away. An evo-fit of the man, described as Asian, 5ft 8in tall, with dark hair and stubble, has been released by police.

THE £24m National BMX Centre at Eastlands will open its doors to the public this Saturday. The open day, running from 10am to 4pm, is a chance to preview the centre before it opens on 8 August. There will be guided tours and BMX demonstrations.

A THIRD MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged raid in Old Trafford. Gary Mullings, from New Moston, was fatally stabbed at the florists on Shrewsbury Street on 26 July. Mr Mullings' brothers, 24-year-old Joseph Junior Mullings and 18-year-old Kyle Mullings from Liverpool have already been charged with robbery. The latest arrest was made on a 25-year-old man.

GREATER MANCHESTER Police Authority (GMPA) have launched the website, www.policingtomorrow.co.uk, to address concerns over proposed changes to public enquiry counters. People can use the website to say how police should be contacted in the future. Councillor Paul Murphy, Chair of GMPA, said: “I want to reassure the public of Greater Manchester that we will listen to their views and concerns. This is their chance to have their say and help shape the future of the police service.”
