A SUPERMARKET trolley thief from Stockport has been given a community service order. Thomas Rainey stole 54 trolleys, worth around £5,000, and kept them in his garden. The 52-year-old was caught when he was spotted on CCTV loading a trolley into the back of his van. Rainey was ordered to undertake 150 hours of community service and pay £60 in costs. The judge described his behaviour as “unusual”.
