Become A Digital Champion With Go On Manchester

DID YOU KNOW only 14 per cent of small businesses sell products and services online?

25 per cent of Manchester residents can’t access the internet, and many organisations are missing vital opportunities to improve sales, generate more business, and create new jobs.

You now need computer skills for 90% of new jobs

Go On Manchester needs your help to change this, and it’s on the look out for potential Digital Champions to help enable people in the city to begin enjoying life online.

What is a Digital Champion?

A Digital Champion can be anyone. The details of your field of work and experience don’t matter providing you can make a commitment, large or small, to help individuals and organisations get online.

All you need are basic computer skills, confidence in using the internet, enthusiasm for the benefits of going online, and the patience to support the people, businesses, and local organisations learning something new.

Go On Manchester will also support you in developing your own skills, so you have the confidence to pass on your knowledge to others.

Who needs your help?

You may already know a person or local business that needs to increase their online presence, and Go On Manchester can help you help the people closest to home.

If you don't have somebody in mind, the team will link you to local charities, community organisations, social clubs, or fledgling businesses.

What are the benefits?

Digital Champions help local people find work and improve their skills – seven million job ads appeared online last year, and you now need computer skills for 90% of new jobs.

With the help of Digital Champions, local businesses can begin innovating – developing new online services, and new ways of working.

Improving online marketing and finding new customers is vital for local businesses to succeed.
