A Seedy Tale

Published on July 27th 2005.

Photographers have a pretty easy life don’t they? Getting to go to the most glamorous parties to follow the most glamorous people around and then they get to sell their pictures for thousands to the papers.

Like most myths about people’s jobs, this isn’t always the case, as the unfortunate Matt Seed recently found out. Now Matt’s a decent bloke, he doesn’t drink and he loves his musicals, having even starred in the lead role in a stage version of Phantom of the Opera in recent times. Matt has produced some of the best shots of people, babies, and even furniture for us over the years, but even Matt wasn’t prepared for his introduction to sado masochism photography last week.

At 7pm last Monday, four normal looking guys rolled up at Matt’s photography studio asking for a photograph of themselves together. Matt gets this all the time, a bunch of mates dressed up smartly in suits wanting a professional photograph of themselves done, isn’t that sweet? Even sweeter was the fact that they had all brought bags with them, probably containing packed lunches that their mothers had prepared earlier.

This was a normal request for a photographer as savvy as Matt – he usually just takes any old request, sets up his equipment and points the camera. But from here, things took a turn for the worse…..

One of the guys asked Matt if there was somewhere that he could get changed. Again, no problem, it was pretty warm and he probably wanted to just put a suit on.

By now, Matt has the studio ready, the lighting is set and he’s up his ladders getting ready to take some shots.

Out of the corner of his eye, one of the guys walks past wearing the following:

  • A pair of pants
  • A white bra
  • A strap on dildo in his mouth
  • Handcuffs
  • A real trout (in his hand, dead and smelling)

The events that followed consisted of him slapping his friends in the face with the recently deceased fish who, presumably, would have been much happier being chased by Norwegian fisherman in the North Sea. All of the other members of the gang (bangers) found all of this hilarious of course, leaving poor Matt to just sit there and join in the ‘fun’ letting out nervous bouts of laughter.

Ever the professional, Matt, as you can see, continued with the photoshoot and produced the shots you can see on the page. God knows where they’re going to be ending up but suffice to say, all was back to normal when the guys reverted to their suits and no doubt went back to the office to deal with some car insurance.

Matt was also filmed for the BBC last night. The Beeb turned up at the studio to film Matt doing a fashion shoot for a TV show to go out on BBC 1 in September. More on that as the time approaches.

He’s still offering his fantastic Summer promotion - £25 studio session AND print deal for the kids. Matthew Seed Photography will also keep you informed of the latest special offers and promotions. Click here for more.
