Want a free river cruise this Sunday?

The Mark Addy pub has generously given us 40 free places for a river tour from the city centre to Salford Quays and back on Sunday 25 April. The cruise lasts an hour and the boat leaves at 2.30pm from the Mark Addy, Stanley Street, Salford, 0161 8324080.

There are cruises available from The Mark Addy to Salford Quays to showcase the River Irwell's glorious past, present and future. it's got a cash bar too, and for our Heroes we've got a whole boat to ourselves.

The Mark Addy is opposite the People's History Museum in Spinningfields.

There's a cash bar on the boat. There's also a full celebration on the shore.

The Mark Addy's going red and white mad with a slightly deferred celebration of St George's Day, this Sunday 25 April. It looks like it'll be the best of the St George's celebrations around the city, with bags of entertainment and great grub from Robert Owen-Brown.

There'll be the Middleton Pace Eggers, Morris Dancing and a Black Pudding throwing championship. There'll also be Yard of Ale drinkers, Dexter Spit-Roast eaters, and a whole feast of traditional English and Lancastrian roasts. The meat will be specially smoked and cooked on a new spit. Vast roast sandwiches and burgers will be available from £5. The usual Mark Addy menu will also be available.

And people can take to the waters. There are cruises available from The Mark Addy to Salford Quays to showcase the River Irwell's glorious past, present and future. But for our Heroes we've got a whole boat to ourselves.
