The Kukoos Meal Deal

The street food cure for lunch hour boredom

Published on February 25th 2014.

The Kukoos Meal Deal

IF you're stuck in a lunch rut of supermarket sarnies and microwave meals, here's your ticket out. Kukoos on Oxford Road has a £5 meal deal that will make lunch the first thing you mention when someone asks about your day. No more mindless munching on a blah buttie – this is a fresh, wholesome meal you'll actually taste, savour and enjoy.

Mounds of just-cooked samosas, bowls of colourful salads, and a whole range of hot wraps

2For the uninitiated, Kukoos is a street food takeaway from the people behind upmarket Indian restaurant Zouk.

It serves freshly-made street food inspired by Morocco, India and The Lebanon. Step in here and you won't know where to feast your eyes first.

The counter displays mounds of just-cooked samosas, bowls of colourful salads, and a whole range of hot wraps with fillings such as chicken tikka, falafel, lamb and spinach, and grilled halloumi. Home-made soups, sweet treats, exotic lassis and smoothies complete the picture.

3Kukoos say their food is 'sunshine for the soul' and we are inclined to agree.

The fresh flavours, healthy options and pocket-friendly prices have made it a favourite with students and uni staff but it's well worth the walk if you work further afield.

Kukoos is two minutes stroll from Oxford Road Station, next door to Odder.

Go and try it with the £5 meal deal. For this you can choose from three options: a salad and a hot wrap; a soup and a hot wrap; or a hot wrap, crisps and a drink. Get your Kukoos voucher.

The meal deal is available every day from 10am to 10pm.
