Musa In Malaysia

NING restaurant’s head chef Norman Musa is about to set off an a food odyssey across Malaysia in search of the country's best regional street food.

They'll be tweeting, blogging, photographing and, of course, eating their way around the country

Musa has enlisted his 50,000-plus Facebook fans to tip him off on where the tastiest street food can be found. From these personal recommendations, he's created a two-week road trip itinerary which will take him the length and breadth of Malaysia. The aim is to produce his next recipe book from the trip.

4Uuk_FBusiness partner Andy Spracklen and assistant Louise Cooper will be accompanying the passionate chef, tweeting, blogging, photographing and, of course, eating their way around the country. We'll be posting their blogs on Manchester Confidential so watch this space.

Taking in cities such as Kangar and Alor Setar in the north close to the Thai border, the beautiful east coast, the highlands interior, and the capitals of the Borneo states of Sabah and Sarawak, the trip will demonstrate the diversity of Malaysian food.

In keeping with Musa and Spracklen’s first book, which sold 6,000 by their own efforts, the second street food-themed book will feature stories of people and places, as well as recipes.

Norman Musa was recently awarded Young Asian and Oriental Chef of the Year at the European Asian Curry Awards. Ning scooped the prize for Best Malaysian Restaurant.
