Out Of The Frying Pan

A round-up of our 2013 interviews so far...

Out Of The Frying Pan

Underdeveloped dining scene? Utter tripe.

Manchester is a (T)bona-fide melting-pot of cuisine, boiling over with tip-top(side) cooking and prime(rib) chefery. And we’re trying to give them all a good grilling (we’ll stop that now).

We’ve heard some fascinating, absurd and often hilarious revelations from a host of the region’s top chefs so far this year:

From David Cameron’s potty-mouth, fights in the kitchen, flatulence inducing artichokes, Michelin stars, 'working with fucking idiots', bamboo goalposts, MBEs from Prince Charles, a desert island full of pigs, scallops with Simon Le Bon, working for Heston and a romantic dinner for two between Alex Ferguson and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Here’s our 2013 round-up so far:

Mary-Ellen McTague, Aumbry

Dave Spanner, Restaurant Bar and Grill

Anthony Fielden, The Northern Quarter

Harry Yeung MBE, Yang Sing

Bryn Evans, Michael Caine's Cafe Bar and Grill

Sam Everett, Harvey Nichols 2nd Floor Restaurant

...and there's plenty more to come.

As long as Manchester has chefs, we'll be tossing them out of the frying pan. Hoorah.
