We’ve had this information sent to us about Ryan Murphy who will head up the kitchens at the Lowry Hotel with immediate effect.
His philosophy is based on a "no nonsense" approach that only products in season should be offered on the menu for maximum flavour he believes in sourcing great quality ingredients
Ryan Murphy‘American-born Ryan brings a wealth of culinary experience to the Lowry Hotel and the River Restaurant, having worked in several Michelin-starred restaurants in the US, Sweden and Austria.
‘Ryan began his career in his hometown of New York where during his studies, he worked at the renowned three-Michelin starred Daniel restaurant. From there, Ryan rose through the ranks and spent time working with Alain Ducasse at Essex House and Jean-Georges Vongerichten at the Trump Tower.
‘After 10 years, Ryan made the move to Europe to the join the team at the two Michelin-starred Schloss Velden in Austria. While at Ronnums, he was awarded a rising two star status from Michelin.
‘In 2009, Ryan relocated to the UK to take up a temporary position with Daniel Galmiche at the two Michelin-star Vineyard at Stockcross, before joining the opening team of The River Restaurant at The Savoy Hotel in London.
‘At The Lowry Hotel, Ryan will be managing a team of 30 chefs in his position as executive head chef and he will putting his own spin on the menus for The River Bar and Restaurant, private dining and all meetings and events.
‘Ryan's style of cooking is to provide classic dishes created in a modern and stylish way, his philosophy is based on a "no nonsense" approach that only products in season should be offered on the menu for maximum flavour he believes in sourcing great quality ingredients and letting them sing.’
