Aumbry, Great British Menu And Menu Relief

AUMBRY Restaurant has released details of its Menu Relief evening in support of Head Chef Mary-Ellen McTague’s appearance on BBC’s Great British Menu.

McTague's challenge on the Great British Menu was to create a dazzling performance on a plate, food that is both gastronomic and witty.

Tickets are on sale now for the Red Nose Day meal (March 15th) where guests can enjoy McTague's final menu featured on the programme throughout this week. All proceeds will go towards Comic Relief.

Tickets can be bought through Aumbry directly with the last remaining places auctioned for charity through their eBay site - click here.

Aumbry’s Menu Relief menu will be as follows:

Starter: Baked Bean Bath Tub

Fish: Northern Sole

Mains: Milk Fed Goat with Pearl Barley, Cauliflower & Fresh Goat Curds

Dessert: Chamomile Lawn

McTague said; “The Great British Menu has become something of an institution over the last few years and we were delighted to be asked to take part in the latest series. Comic Relief is such a fantastic charity and Menu Relief at the restaurant will be a brilliant evening. Hopefully the series will help to raise a lot of money for a very worthy cause.”

Named Manchester’s Restaurant of the Year at last year’s Food and Drink Awards, Aumbry’s intimate dining room occupies a small, converted cottage in the heart of Prestwich village. Its short menus reflect the local produce available throughout the seasons. Aumbry uses a combination of traditional methods inspired by historical cookery with science and technology to create dishes.
