Tampopo, Manchester’s very own Pan Asian noodle brand, is offering the chance to win free meals to anybody who donates to their Japan Tsunami Appeal.
The East Asian restaurant chain has 100 free meals to give away by the end of April.
All those who donate to the Japan Tsunami Appeal will be entered into a prize draw to win one of 50 free meals for two at one of Tampopo’s restaurants.
Donations can be made by speaking to your server, donating some money to the appeal and leaving your name and email address.
All proceeds go to the British Red Cross, which is supporting the Japanese Red Cross in their aid to victims of the tsunami that desecrated parts of North East Japan this month.
115 response teams are working on the ground right now, providing first aid and emergency healthcare, as well as distributing relief items. More than 730 staff, including doctors and nurses, makes up the response team that needs your help.
More than 8,000 people have died in the disaster, thousands are injured and at least 12,000 are missing. Many people are living in evacuation centres as 14,000 homes have been destroyed and around 100,000 are damaged.
Tampopo, which takes its name from a Japanese film chronicling the quest to find a perfect bowl of noodles, brings you the authentic tastes of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan and Korea.
Tampopo’s Nick Jeffrey and David Fox say “We’re completely shocked at the scale of this disaster, and anything that we and our customers can do to assist the valiant efforts of those on the ground trying to alleviate the distress will be much appreciated”.
