Confidential’s pick of the Food and Drink Festival

The Manchester Food and Drink Festival kicks off on October 1, bigger and better than ever.

We’ve been casting our beady eyes over the Food and Drink Events...and we really like the look of these.

Matfin's Manchester Menu Challenge.
Tuesday 5th October 19:30 at Michael Caines Restaurant at Abode Manchester, M1 2DB Price: £55

The reigning MFDF Chef of the Year intends to create the ultimate Manchester menu this Festival, with dishes inspired entirely by our great city and region. But what will he cook? You decide. Executive Chef Ian is inviting YOU to create the menu with him - your opportunity to virtually work with our current chef of the year! We want to hear what you think should feature on a Great Manchester Menu - whether it be your favourite ingredient, producer or whole dish, Ian wants to hear your suggestions. All you have to do is email abode@foodanddrinkfestival.com or leave your suggestions on the MFDF Facebook Page. The final menu will be revealed on the night, and will be available at a very special Festival price of £55 including a bubbly drinks reception, your suggested four course dinner, each served with matching wine. 25 places available, so call 0161 200 5678, email here to book your place now.

Lunch in the Suburbs
Sunday 3rd - Saturday 9th October at Sanminis, BL0 9DJ Price: £40

As last year’s Lunch in the Suburbs was such a success, MFDF is bringing this fabulous experience back but with two fantastic menus. The event will be running over two separate days, so that you have the chance to dine in the suburb of Ramsbottom.

Three of Ramsbottom’s best restaurants are teaming up with MFDF to celebrate this and stage an one-off experience for Festival goers. Three of the jewels in the Rammy crown will each be hosting Festival revellers for an extra special course each, as visitors are invited into each for a true gastronomic relay of an event.

Sanminis, Ramsons, and the Chocolate Café, all within a stones throw from each other in Ramsbottom, will host a unique event as part of the MFDF festival. The event will run on two days during the festival, Sunday 3rd October and Saturday 9th October. Two sittings will be available throughout each day.

Tickets available here.
