DAMSON at MediaCityUK, launched last week. It's a beautifully appointed first floor space, with a smart chef's table, a huge kitchen, and stunning views across the MediaCity area, over to The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum North.
There are lots of pictures from the launch below.
What's clear is that Steve Pilling and Simon Stanley have really got their act together here.
The editor, Schofield, says the food is top notch too. He often goes on with himself but he might be right when he says that given the museums, theatre and water sports and what not, then a really good restaurant completes the Quays area, makes it a viable option for a full day out.
Let's hope the luvvies, from the BBC, over the road get used to using the space, help feed its coffers. This is a real destination restaurant folks, give it a go.

This looks interesting. The people in these pics look like they actually eat food, which is not always the case in restaurant launch reports.
that'll be me then...
Coincidentally, I was at the Heaton Chapel branch last night for the first time. If the food at MediaCity is as good as what I had last night, they should do a roaring trade as dinner was absolutely sublime and I'll be recommending it to everyone...
Damson would probably stress it is in Heaton MOOR not CHAPEL. Its a big deal in the Heatons!
Does anybody know what is happenning with the Alchemist at Media City - noticed all the signs have been taken down but nothing going on inside? Would have made a nice place to go for a drink before/after Damson.
It's been cancelled I believe.
Never mind the BBC, what about the poor relations at ITV actually above the restaurant !!
So just pictures of people and tables.. great.
Thought the same thing. My index finger is shattered after spending so long scrolling through so many pointless photos.
Less filler please ManCon!
