The bartenders at San Carlo know how to create a sparkle with their Christmas drinks. The recipe below is for a 'San Carlo Kiss' which is similar to an Aperol Spritz, with its combination of Prosecco and the Italian aperitif Aperol.
The San Carlo version swaps orange juice for lime and adds Ameretto for a Christmassy, almond flavour. More sophisticated than a snowball, and a much easier drink than a glass of egg nog. Try it at San Carlo or make your own at home.
Ingredients:
1 tsp sugar (white or brown)
Squeeze of lime juice
Crushed ice
2 parts Prosecco
1 part Aperol
1 part Amaretto
Dash of Angosture Bitters
Make sure the sugar, lime and crushed ice are well mixed. Then add Prosecco, Aperol and Amaretto and gently stir. Top with crushed ice and a dash of Angosture Bitters and garnish.
