Chilean Wine Dinner at The Malmaison

Experience the cream of Chilean wines at this dinner and tasting at Malmaison Manchester

Published on October 15th 2010.

Chilean Wine Dinner at The Malmaison

Valdivieso, the grand old man of Chilean wines, is hosting a tasting and dinner at Malmaison Manchester on Friday 29 October. If you're a wine enthusiast, or if you'd like to spend an evening sipping your way through a succession of award-winning New World wines, you may want to go

Expect to taste some memorable vintages

The not-very-Chilean-sounding Paul Dunn will be leading the tasting. He's Valdivieso's UK representative and there's very little that he doesn't know about Chilean wines and this 130-year-old winery.

Valdivieso was the first vineyard in the whole of South America to make sparkling wines when they released their first bottles in 1887. Nowadays, it's their still wines that set them apart, encapsulating everything that Chile excels at: rich, vibrant flavours and smooth, glossy textures. Based in Lontue, the Valdivieso owns some of Chile's prime vinous real estate, as shown by the Single Vineyard wines which showcase some of the country's most exciting terroirs.

The evening will start with pre-dinner drinks and canapés in The Mal's Mezzine Lounge. You'll then settle down to a four course dinner and wine tasting in a private dining room.

Paul will take you on a trip around Chile exploring the regions and grapes that have made the country a hit with British wine lovers. Expect to taste some memorable vintages.

Tickets for the wine-tasting and dinner cost £35. Places are limited. It takes place on Friday 29 October from 6pm.
