Veg Box Scheme Riverford Organic brings fresh produce to Manchester City Centre

Having partnered up with Stockley Farm to deliver five-a-days to customers in Stockport and south Manchester since 2008, Riverford Organics, an established national fruit and veg box scheme, will expand deliveries to cover Manchester City Centre this week.

Stockley Farm is a well-known North West attraction, and owner John Walton has been delivering his quality produce on a smaller scale since 2002. In partnership with Riverford, they now offer pantry essentials as well as dairy goods for a one-stop service.

Deliveries to the heart of Manchester will be done by Dave Hanlon, who beat off competition from 105 other Riverford Organic franchisees to be named Business Builder of the Year. Dave is an organics fan, and is constantly working to encourage debate on organic and seasonal foods by attending Food Festivals and Farmer's Markets in the region.

Riverford Organics tries to deliver more than edibles; their website and blog is replete with seasonal updates on produce supply, origins, and recipe ideas.

With boxes starting from £8.95 including delivery and many flexible options besides (which they boast are on average 19% cheaper than supermarkets), this is an affordable and quality way to bring in your organic fruit and veg.

Jonathan Schofield, Confidential Editor, took delivery of a Riverford box last week. What did he think? “It was very good,” he said. “The family ate it all. Well not the actual box, just the juicy fruit and lush vegetables inside.”
