Lounge Ten Re-opens

The original dirty lush of Manchester dining makes a welcome return

Published on August 3rd 2012.

Lounge Ten Re-opens

LOUNGE TEN is re-opening on Saturday 4 August.

A typical main could be tuffle infused corn fed chicken supreme with wilted spoonwort, fondant potato, foie gras sauce (£18.50) and a pudd could be popping candy and pop-rock chocolate cake with strawberry ice cream (£7.50).

It's had a full refurb but aficionadoes of this red, black, gold, be-tassled, burlesque performer of a restaurant will be pleased to learn that it's as lush as ever.

In fact, in amongst the soft porn pastel pictures, there's an even larger tassle and mirror count.

InteriorInterior

The downstairs area of the sixty-plus cover restaurant will now be a bar only.

Happily the toilets have been divided. So it's out with the old-fashioned unisex toilets everyone nicked from Ally McBeal and in comes a 'gents' and a 'ladies'.

There'll be a live pianist every night Lounge Ten is open and a magician will guest frequently. The manager is Lee Ronan.

The restaurant will re-open cautiously, just on Saturdays for a couple or so weeks.

Then it will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Sensibly it will only open in the evening. There's not much call for this level of dining at lunchtimes in the city.

The menu is produced below. It comes from a brigade led by Marcus Humphrey and Michal Rybak.

MenuMenu

A typical starter might be braised red leg of partridge, quince puree, amertith and red basil salad, thyme jus (£9); a typical main could be tuffle infused corn fed chicken supreme with wilted spoonwort, fondant potato, foie gras sauce (£18.50) and a pudd could be popping candy and pop-rock chocolate cake, strawberry ice cream (£7.50).

Manchester's missed the Baroque excess of this cheeky ooh-la-la restaurant. So welcome back to the Tib Lane tastebud tickler.

Lounge Ten is at 10 Tib Lane, City. M2 4JB. 0161 834 1331

There is no such thing as chicken infused truffle MR Ellis. That dish seems to be a intriging dish with different flavours and smell designed to mesmorise the the sense of smell and the taste buds. Will try

...will they serve a decent cocktail?

Good question. This is likely to be a sign of coherence and integrity in the design rather than merely a nauseating concoction of kitsch.

For me, the pictures bring to mind the interior of a fortune teller's booth on Blackpool prom.

"There's not much call for this level of dining at lunchtimes in the city." - what utter piffle! I regularly had a late Friday lunch at Lounge Ten (as was), and whilst it was never full to busting, there were always customers in. They're missing a trick here.

Location, opening times etc. please? Cheers.

Kris, u are a very negative person who seems to find a fault with every thing. Lounge ten is a wonderful restaurant, great food and entertainment ideas. I can only assume you are a competitor trying to build a negaitive vibes around such a wonderful creation. Get a hobby.

Ah Pierre, Merci beaucoup. I am not a competitor just an epicurean my good fellow, additionally I have high standards what can I say. I have to say you are deluded in relation to the food at this establishment, however you have an opinion and I respect that.
