SIMON Rogan, one of only two chefs to be awarded 10/10 from The Good Food Guide, has won his second Michelin star for his well-respected restaurant L’Enclume in the lush village of Cartmel, Cumbria.
Simon RoganThe only other North West chef to do this was Paul Heathcote with his restaurant at Longridge, now sadly closed.
Simon’s food is very different, described by some as modernist cuisine, it's among the best of its genre in the world.
The official announcements are due next week but it appears Michelin ‘slipped’ by publishing the new stars for a matter of a few hours on its website last night. Others may be forgiven for thinking it was a PR stunt to aid the sales of the guides, reported to be costing the tyre company £10m a year.

Utter nonsense. This second star is way overdue and not only do most food reviewers in the country agree, so do most of the top chefs.
Menu's probably to ambitious and complex for your palate!!
Really hope Simon opens in Manchester.
I feel the L'Enclume of a few years ago was most definitely deserving of a 2nd star - with the sticky toffee pudding and lancashire hot pot dishes being some of the best dishes I ever experienced anywhere, both incorporating the spherification technique that L'Enclume was once famous for - but now on recent visits - these dishes are gone and it seems they are going for more of a Noma approach with foraged ingredients - certainly took the wow factor out of the experience and has put me off returning
We ate here last Sunday. Fantastic 17 courses! Definitely deserving of a 2nd star!
Why do people feel the need to be immediately negative? A NW chef has two Michelin stars. Congrats and the like to him.
