Ken Calder the ex-Connaught and London Carriageworks (Liverpool) chef is putting on a splendid five course fish dinner at the Marble Arch pub next week. On Tuesday 12 August, 7.30pm for 8pm, he'll be delivering dishes such as pan fried scallops, curried crab, squid risotto, confit of halibut and summer berries, with all the trimmings to match.
As that added little Marble Arch twist, all these courses will be matched with an ale from the Marble's own beers, made on the premises, or other guest micros from the region. Gordo's already booked a couple of places.

It was a splendid affair with the scallops the outstanding dish including some brittle thingy with ginger and rose petals - with the consistency of treacle toffee which I'm a bit in love with. Bloody well done to Ken and the team. And there's another dinner coming up, this time with meat a week on Tuesday. Get booking away.
There's a "Dated: 5/8/2008" at the bottom, I think it should be at the top though.
just called to book but full!
A bargainous £35!
Please either take this off or make it clear this is 2008!!!....just rang the Marble Arch and they were very confused and now i see why
Emma Chisitt?
that will be boiled....
Loved the crab, scallops were not-so-little beauties whilst the spuds, oh my god. The peas were so good Gordo is going to bribe Ken to present them with a biled ham hock on top, english mustard on the side and will then be happy to meet his maker....
So how did ken do?? He was a little nervous when i saw him.
