Dine in style at The Portland Restaurant

With its elegant Victorian architecture and Piccadilly Gardens location, the Portland Hotel is a popular choice with visitors to the city. But you don't have to be a tourist or a business traveller to make the most of this impressive venue – with a newly refurbished restaurant and bar, it's a good choice for anyone looking for a classy meal out or drinks in the city centre.

Dining is a stylish affair at The Portland. Guests are welcome to enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the ground floor Portland Street Bar, where you can reserve their 'fish bowl' seating area for small parties of up to 10 people.

In the restaurant you'll find sumptuous Modern European cuisine on the A La Carte menu. Head chef Biju Rajagopal cooks classics such as Rib eye steak alongside dishes including Crispy aromatic chicken and Broccoli and blue cheese potato dumplings. As for the desserts, Sticky toffee pudding and Jam roly poly fly the British flag.

If your taste buds are calling out for more Eastern flavours then the Taste of the East menu is one not to miss. The specially designed menu runs from Friday to Sunday and features starters, mains and desserts from India, Thailand and Malaysia. There’s Gosht Rogan Josh for those after Indian flavours and the Thai Vegetarian Massaman Curry is a delicious meat-free option.

The menu continues with authentic Eastern desserts including the traditional Malaysian dessert of Sago Gulam Melaka.

In addition to these two vast menu choices, there’s also the option to dine from the Table D’hôte menu where you can indulge in two courses for £19.95 or a three course meal for just £21.95. Click here to find out more.

With the evening meal service running from 6.30pm to 9.45pm, there’s plenty of time to make the most of these enticing menus.

If you’re eager to get a taste of the East, or West, with city centre views, you can make a booking by calling 0161 246 3435.
