Confidential's First Dinner Club At Room Kicks Off In Style

We couldn't have wished for a better launch for our Confidential Dinner Club series. The food was out of this world and the wine and conversation both kept flowing until late into the night (or should that be until early in the morning).

Ensconced in The Rose Room, our very own private dining area, we felt every inch the VIP. And the luxury didn't stop with the venue – Room is located in the historic Reform Club – it was all over the menu too.

7D0p_HJames Wallis, Room's head chef is something of a mastermind in the kitchen. In fact he deserves a big, sloppy kiss for the delectable four-course menu he put together for us.

The rhubarb and ginger bread that accompanied the game terrine was a stroke of genius and the wild garlic fritter that came with the soup was...what can I say? -crisp, piquant, in fact perfect in every way.

One of the standout dishes of the evening was the plaice. Adorned with a stonking great juicy langoustine, it felt lavish, decadent and was wolfed down in seconds. The chocolate millionaire with salted caramel was a plate of pudding paradise – unctuous and rich, its memory will remain in the minds of many of our diners for some time to come.

Thank you Room. After a night like that, satisfied and replete with good company and good food, what else is there to do but look forward to the next Confidential Dinner Club?
