Aumbry chef Mary Ellen McTague was named the Good Food Guide's 'Up and Coming Chef of the Year 2010'. It's one in a growing list of accolades they've scooped since opening in Prestwich in 2009. Aumbry was named 'Best Restaurant' at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival 2010, and Lancashire Life crowned it 'Lancashire Restaurant of the Year 2010'.
Mary Ellen and her husband, chef Lawrence Tottingham, learned their trade at establishments including Heston Blumenthal's The Fat Duck and Michelin-starred Sharrow Bay.
Room is one of only four restaurants in Manchester with two AA rosettes. Situated on King Street in the old Manchester Reform Club, it's the kind of setting restaurant-owners fight over; cool, contemporary stylings in a historic building. The beautifully-designed Rose Room is has its own bar and offers total privacy to guests. The perfect surroundings for a dinner of this quality.
Room is normally closed on Sundays; they are opening especially to host Aumbry and 30 of our readers.

The six course dinner with matched wines costs £75 per person. The dinner takes place from 7pm on Sunday 7 August. The seating will be banquet-style, making for a sociable evening amongst fellow foodies. There are only 30 places available so please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
