Black Pudding Company Wins Best In Britain

THE Real Lancashire Black Pudding Co. has reaffirmed their place as ‘Britain’s most highly decorated black pudding makers’ after the recent  ‘National meat products competition’ at Birmingham’s NEC.

The company entered three different black puddings and one Irish white pudding and won a gold medal for each product.

This brings the companies tally of awards over the last 20 years to 176. They have won awards in France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and Austria, but the British awards mean the most to them.

‘It is really great to win awards which endorse the quality of our products’ said MD Andrew Holt.

‘Our dedicated team work very hard to maintain our high standards and winning accolades such as these makes them very proud of what they do’.

The Real Lancashire Black pudding Co. is a family run business based in  Rossendale Valley. They produce their puddings using a traditional ‘Bury Black Pudding’ recipe, dating back to 1879. Rossendale has a long tradition of making black puddings and most of the black puddings sold on the famous Bury market are made in the Valley.

One of the black puddings entered in the competition was made by Andrew’s son Brett – possibly the only third generation black pudding maker in the country. Brett used a recipe which he got from his Grandad Joe who used to make puddings in Waterfoot.
