WOWZERS, didn’t that fly by. In the time it takes a raging greyhound to pounce upon a poor unsuspecting fluffy rabbit, that hip young puppish bar just off Oxford Road has reached its first birthday.
It was Craig Charles, the funkiest funk DJ in the land that really brought the crowd to its knees
Packed with pretty Manchester folk the event brought together a troop of trendies moving and grooving to the sounds of Keiran Sharples, Danuka, DJ Da Funk and Stuart Richards.
However, it was Craig Charles, the funkiest funk DJ in the land that really brought the crowd to its knees last Thursday night. As the horde flowed downstream in to the venue’s Underdog club, the Red Dwarf and Corro actor and all-round soul and funk aficionado took to the decks with one of the most animated and enthusiastic DJ sets we’ve ever seen.
To say this funk soul brother smashed it would be an understatement; the dance floor flowed and pulsed with the excitability of a chronically hyperactive puppy whose Pedigree Chum had been laced with espresso and placed in front of a tennis-ball machine turned up to eleven.
Needless to say, it was a bloody blast.
