Win a wine and spirit tasting course at Harvey Nichols

This popular course at Harvey Nichols will turn you from a wine and spirits appreciator to a wine and spirits expert – with an internationally-recognised qualification to prove it.

It's the WSET Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits – an in-depth course that's ideal if you know a bit about wine but want to take your understanding to the next level. By the end of the course, you won't just know what you like, but why you like it.

The course runs for eight consecutive Tuesdays from 12 October (from 7pm to 9pm) and will teach you about the major grape varieties, wine styles, main spirits categories, and the factors that influence style, quality and price.

It'll include over 40 tutored tastings, 16 hours of tuition from Stephen Rosser, WSET Certified Educator & Member of the Association of Wine Educators, and a WSET recommended study pack. (WSET stands for Wine and Spirit Education Trust, in case you were wondering.) It'll end with a multiple choice exam where, if you've been paying full attention and not just getting drunk, you'll get the WSET Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Wines and Spirits – good for waving around at dinner parties or at job interviews in the hospitality industry.

It's also very popular with people who just enjoy wine and want to really get to grips with the subject. The spirits side is another draw – high quality spirits are enjoying a resurgence at the moment with people keen to learn how to appreciate them in the same way they appreciate wines.

The course costs £265 for a place, including all the tastings, course materials, and the exam. If you'd like to book a place, please contact Anna Vo at Harvey Nichols on 0161 828 8821 or email Anna.Vo@HarveyNichols.com

Manchester Confidential Heroes can enter the competition to win a free place on the course. You must be available to attend all sessions and the final exam.
