The Shaker Room has arrived

Altrincham gets a new addition to its thriving bar scene, certain to leave you shaken and stirred!

The Shaker Room has arrived

Picture the scene. A group of 30-something women having a girlie get-together, sipping cosmopolitans and gossiping in plush, modern café bar surroundings. And where are they? No, it’s not Manhattan, this is Altrincham.

With its seductive mix of restaurants and café bars, Altrincham is developing a thriving night-time economy. And we are set to see a new addition to the charming square of Goose Green when The Shaker Room opens its doors on Friday 23rd March.

The new art-deco inspired bar will offer fair-trade coffee, teas and smoothies by day and cocktails, wines, beer and a selection of spirits and champagnes by night. The Shaker Room also prides itself on being baby-friendly during the day, serving locally sourced, organic baby food.

The exciting new venue is the brainchild of husband and wife team Dave and Dee Brewster. Dave has previously worked in prestigious Manchester venues such as Mash and Air, The Lock and One Central Street and as an expert mixologist has represented Manchester in various cocktail competitions. Dee is a public relations consultant who has worked with a host of bars and restaurants over the years.

They said: “We were aware of a need for a stylish cocktail bar in Altrincham, particularly during this exciting time of regeneration. We’re striving to provide a social lounge that meets the cosmopolitan tastes of local people.”

Special events are also being planned at the venue (which is available for private hire) including a seasonal wine club and special coffee mornings. Details of forthcoming dates will be posted on the website at www.theshakerroom.co.uk
