Bars and Burritos

We all know that drinking on an empty stomach isn’t really the best of ideas. I have lost count of the number of times that I have managed to forget about eating before going out and have ended up crawling into bed in a drunken stupor after, oh, say three glasses of wine? Large ones mind you.

The trouble is that it can often be difficult to incorporate food in with a night out. Unless you’re specifically going out to a restaurant, our pre - night out snacking options are limited to greasy fast food, stodgy subs, or grabbing a sandwich from Tesco and wolfing it down outside in the cold. Not very appealing.

That’s why Barburrito is so ruddy, bloody great. We love it. By now most of you will know about Manchester’s favourite Mexican fast food restaurant in Piccadilly Gardens, which has been delighting office workers all over town since it opened its doors a few months ago and let out a tempting whiff of Mexican spiciness.

Barburrito is now open until 8pm midweek and 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, making it the perfect place to indulge in a spot of pre drinking nourishment before a big night out. ‘Why is it perfect?’ I hear you ask. Well, I’ll tell you. For a start, anyone who has eaten there will tell you that the food is the best thing since sliced bread. And much, much tastier.

Barburrito is somewhere between a fast food venue and a restaurant. The food certainly is very fast (meaning that you can be outta there and into the pubs in no time at all), but the atmosphere is sleek and comfortable – and with it now having a license to serve alcohol it makes an even more perfect place to start off your night. What could be nicer than looking out over Piccadilly gardens as the sun goes down, chomping on a burrito and washing it down with a nice beer?

Barburrito is offering Manchester Confidential readers Corona for only £1 when you purchase a meal! Click here for more.

And what’s more, Barburrito’s central location in the heart of Piccadilly makes it the perfect meeting up point. This place just gets better and better.

So now you really have no excuse for being a complete lightweight on a night out in Manchester. You can no longer use the fact that you haven’t eaten anything as an excuse for falling asleep under a table in a little puddle of your own dribble.

Just remember to cut down on the chillies if you’re out on the pull. And maybe opt for the milder salsa. Nobody likes Burritos that much.

To kick off the summer (what summer?), Barburrito is offering Manchester Confidential readers Corona for only £1 when you purchase a meal! Click here for more.
