Abode's indulgent weekend break

Weekend breaks can cause more stress than they take away – rushing to the airport, getting to grips with a new city, then catching up on all your chores when you get back. If you like the idea of a romantic weekend break without any of the hassle that goes with it, Abode Manchester has a very tempting alternative.

Their new Fabulous Package has all the luxury with none of the effort...all you have to do is get a taxi into town, check in to Abode, and settle back for a night of indulgence and fantastic food.

The package includes a stay in one of Abode's 'Fabulous' suites and the seven-course Tasting Menu at Michael Caines restaurant.

You'll be shown to a spacious loft-style suite with ironwork columns, exposed beams and modern art by the likes of Yoko Ono and David Hockney. These suites are where visiting celebrities stay when they check in to Abode. They've got all the luxury, comfort and style you'd expect from the highest-rated rooms at a highly rated hotel – handcrafted king sized bed, LCD television and a library of DVDs, complimentary tuck box stocked with regional treats and drinks, a wet room with enamel baths and bespoke toiletries.

You'll arrive to find flowers and chocolates in your room – the perfect romantic surprise if you're treating someone special. You'll may feel reluctant to leave it to head downstairs for the next part of your stay – the seven-course Tasting Menu at Michael Caines restaurant with a glass of pre-dinner champagne to whet your appetite.

Seen by many as one of the best restaurants in the city, dinner at Michael Caines is worth getting excited about. The Tasting Menu is a tour of some of its most delectable food. Autumn truffle risotto, slow poached monkfish, and saddle of venison are just some of the dishes you'll be served.

Following dinner, you can either head back upstairs to lounge around in your luxurious suite, or you could give the champagne and cocktail bar a go. Then the following morning, you can enjoy either a continental breakfast in your room or a full English breakfast at your leisure.

If you want a luxurious weekend getaway, without having to travel too far, this is ideal. It makes a fantastic Christmas gift or anniversary or birthday present for your partner.

The Fabulous Package costs £175 per person, based on two sharing, and includes one night in a Fabulous Suite, chocolates and flowers in your suite, the seven-course tasting menu at Michael Caines, a glass of champagne, and breakfast.
