Wrong-Prov and FlimFlam

The Frog and Bucket has some big shows coming up next week: one a free-reign improv featuring four boundary-pushing comics at Moho Live, the other starring anarchic TV magician Pete Firman.

You can probably tell from the name that Wrong-Prov isn't aimed at the sensitive souls among us. Starring Mick Ferry, Jason Cook, Matthew Reed, and a yet-to-be-named comedian, it bills itself as 'totally without morals and any sensibilities'.

Mick Ferry is renowned as a fine purveyor of lugubrious surrealism. His sharp tongue has made him one of the most sought-after comics on the British and international comedy circuit. Jason Cook is also known around the world for his quick wit. In May 2008 he was given the Best International Show Award at The New Zealand Comedy Festival, and at this year's Edinburgh Fringe he received four five-star reviews from Timeout, Metro, The List and Festmag. Matthew Reed has attracted his own share of glowing reports from the press. The Independent described him as a 'fantastic and talented up-and-comer'. He's the type of comedian who has you laughing at things that you really shouldn't find funny.

Pete Firman, appearing at the Frog on Wednesday 19 October, is best known for appearing in Channel 4's Dirty Tricks. Since then his blend of anarchic magic and quirky comedy have earned him a reputation as one of the UK's leading conjurers. FlimFlam is his crowd-pleasing Edinburgh Fringe show that he's now taking on tour around the UK. Fresh from Montreal's prestigious Just for Laughs festival, his appearance at the Frog is expected to be a hit.

Wrong-Prov takes place at MOHO Live, Tib Street (next to Afflecks Palace) on Sunday 19 October at 8pm (doors 7pm). Tickets cost £7 (£5 concessions).

Pete Firman will be performing at the Frog and Bucket, 102 Oldham Street on Wednesday 22 October at 8.15pm (doors 7.30pm). Tickets cost £6 (£4 concessions).
