Stand Up for Macmillan

Win backstage tickets to the Friday Night Project

Published on March 3rd 2008.

Stand Up for Macmillan

The Frog and Bucket is hosting a Tony Cook Memorial Gig in remembrance of the father of a local comedian, Jason Cook. Tony, who passed away earlier this year, loved stand up comedy and travelled with Jason when he was first starting out to comedy clubs all over the country.

In his memory the Frog and Bucket are presenting this gig in aid of the Macmillan Nurses, who are a source of support for people affected by cancer. All ticket money will be going to the charity, and all performers are appearing free of charge.

There will also be some special prizes to auction including the star prize of two tickets for a filming of the Friday Night Project. The winners will also get to go backstage and mingle with the stars afterwards.

There is also a special painting up for grabs by noted comedy artist OKSE, which usually retails for over £500.

Other raffle prizes include: Ross Noble signed DVD’s, Alan Carr signed DVD, a table of 6 guests at The Sheffield Memorial Hall Comedy Night run by Toby Foster of Phoenix Nights fame and a table of 4 guests at The Frog and Bucket Comedy Club with wine thrown in.

The night will be brought to life with a line-up of superb stand up comedy in aid of Macmillan Cancer Nurses. Comedians on the night include:

MC Jason Cook
Toby Fosters (Phoenix Nights, BBC Sheffield)
Justin Moorhouse (Key 103, Phoenix Nights)
Jimmy Cricket (And There's More)

Tickets will be priced at £7 or £5 concessions, and it promises to be a memorable night of laughter, all for a great cause. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show gets underway at 8.15pm.
