UK Tribute Festivals, the team responsible for free rock festival Festwich, has just announced a brand new festival for 2015. It’ll be held at Moor Park in Preston, and will be called Rockprest.

The organisers are promising two full days of live music, with over 30 acts, including well-known tribute bands and up-and-coming talent

Said festival curator Jools Taylor, “We’ve been in close discussions with Preston City Council and are extremely excited to be bringing a new festival to Preston in summer 2015 titled Rockprest.

“Our festivals are unique as they are free to attend. The ticket is free and all the attendees pay is the booking fee which is never more than £2.50.

“Rockprest will be aimed at all ages and there will be something for everybody including two stages of music, thrill rides, kids’ rides, a market area, plus food and beer tents that cater for all tastes.”

Festwich has seen some of the best tribute acts from around the UK and Europe including tributes to Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Metallica and many more. It will return to St Mary’s Park, Prestwich in summer 2015.

In Preston the organisers are promising two full days of live music, with over 30 acts, including well-known tribute bands and up-and-coming talent.

Said festival director Tim Ross, “Moor Park Preston is an ideal site to host Rockprest as logistically it’s easily accessible. Also the interest and requests to bring what we do at Festwich to Preston have been unbelievable.”

Executive member of culture and leisure services for Preston City Council, Councillor Veronica Afrin, said, “We are excited to welcome this new venture to Preston. Rockprest sounds like it will be a great experience for Prestonians of all ages and we’re pleased that UK Tribute Festivals chose us to be their next venue.”

The actual date and line-up for Rockprest will be announced soon, with tickets being released in Spring.

Having seen how quickly Festwich tickets go, the organisers predict that Rockprest tickets won’t be around for long. To be the first to hear about tickets and the line-up, join the Rockprest mailing list:
