John Lydon: “My body and mind is the Sex Pistols but my heart and soul is PiL.”
Following on from their monumental concerts at the end of 2009, their first shows in 17 years, the majestic Public Image Ltd hit Liverpool's O2 Academy this Saturday night (July 24)
It's not often you get to see a legendary band on your own doorstep - and with a wide and varied back catalogue of hits spanning three decades, such as Public Image, This Is Not A Love Song, Rise and Disappointed, John Lydon's band promises all this and plenty more surprises in store at an unmissable gig.
After fronting the Sex Pistols, Lydon formed Public Image Ltd in 1978. With their experimental sound fusing rock, dance, folk, ballet, pop and dub, PiL produced some of the most diverse music of the post-punk era.
Their music and vision has constantly evolved and now they are at the top of their game, with an incredible live experience from Lydon himself; former Damned guitarist Lu Edmonds; Bruce Smith, ex drummer from the Pop Group and The Slits, along with veteran session bassist Scott Firth.
We are definitely in for this happening.
Good news is there are just about some tickets left. Snap 'em up today, right here.
